Another baking experience, another unexpected (but delicious) result. A week ago, I decided to try my amateur hand at making a new kind of dessert, one that differed from the cupcakes and cakes. I have a special liking for pudding, so once I saw that recipe popping up in my inbox, I knew I had to try it. Besides, I had a huge oven, and a newly minted batch of ingredients and equipment at my disposal. I was far too eager to give up the opportunity of combining two of my favorite foods, chocolate, and pudding together to resist. Thus, I rushed down instantly, badgering my startled mother to clean the oven so I could begin creating my concoction as soon as possible.

From Cookies to Scones
So, a few days back, I decided to attempt making chocolate-chip cookies. I had baked cakes, brownies, and cupcakes before, but never cookies, either because my so-called “cookie dough” would slowly transition into cake batter or because I didn’t find baking cookies as interesting as the other aspects of baking.

For quite some time, I have been visualizing myself as a professional baker. Thanks to my mom’s obsession with following MasterChef episodes, her umpteen attempts to bake almost perfect cakes (not 100% perfect) and having a gang of amazing friends who are utterly meticulous in their baking skills, ignited my passion for baking. So, to pursue this passion, I finally decided that I would bake a simple chocolate chip muffin batch. My confidence was sky-high. I made an elaborate plan that involved collecting the recipes for a thousand varieties of muffins, listing down the required ingredients, and badgering my mom to buy the ingredients that would help me launch my dream baking project. I had been an assistant baker in my best friend’s kitchen and was able to grasp a few tricks and trades of baking. She loves baking, and she seemed even more excited than I was!
