Creativity

The other day, I was sitting there, staring at the screen. You’ve seen the number of blogs I’ve written about writer’s block, and I was genuinely in an incredibly horrible creative…funk. The screen remained blank, to say the least, and I tucked my urges to write away in the corner of my head where they would forever reside in all their diminished glory. I walked away feeling more frustrated, with a creeping sense of guilt and dread as I thought I was “losing my creativity”.

Journalling Tips

Even though “Diary Of A Wimpy Kid” and “Dork Diaries” taught me to write ‘Dear diary…’ and write a whole lot of nothing after(though I’d pretend I was introducing myself to a real person), I didn’t realise journaling was so much more effective for real life problems(though you could still start with the ‘dear diary’ prerequisite).

But journalling can get boring. I mean, who wants to spend time writing when we can simply internalize and explode days later…

However, for people who want to, know that it’s become a handy tool for relieving myself of stressful assessments, failing friendships and life in general, when everything becomes a bit too much. So, here’s a little idea of how to do it in a way that helps you (which has worked for me anyway).

The Art Of Studying

Hello and good morning (night because I’m about to fall asleep from academic burnout) to my dearest readers,

I’m here to present to you…

Stress, Stress, Stress

“I can’t deal with this anymore; I swear I’m going to drop out of school instead.”

“The AMOUNT of assessments that I’ve gotten, I’m not even going to try. Who cares if I flunk it?”

“Studying? Again? I’d much rather throw bricks at zombies in Minecraft or sit there and binge-watch the newest season of Stranger Things.”

The Science Project

With the easing of the pandemic restrictions, our school was back with the competitions that we had missed out on for the past two years. Our science teacher organized a “Science Fair”, and we were tasked with designing a product or presenting research to solve any real-life problem, big or small. We were allowed to select our group members (THANKFULLY!!). It was part of our science enrichment program, so me and my team members cut to the chase and began to brainstorm.

Business Studies

“I DON’T FIND IT INTERESTING”.

That’s a phrase that shows up a lot in my speech, containing 1000 reasons as to why, I won’t, will never, never did like Business Studies. I have realized that I have become a chronic complainer when it comes to learning Business Studies, a subject I dread. As in, stuffing pages and books of information into your already overloaded brain. It’s indeed a terrible experience.

Me And My Exams

Welcome Secondary! Suddenly the world of academics had transcended into a haze of intricacies and perplexity. The concepts more entangled, the questions more elaborate, the teachers more specific and me more resilient. I had clearly miscalculated the enormity of Secondary and so when my term exams were announced, I was pretty relaxed despite the fact that my exams were just 2.5 weeks away. That put me into quite a precarious position when 1 week later, I experienced the true meaning of last-minute rush. I was up late studying, trying to finish the syllabus that had suddenly bombarded me.
